February 2010
These photos are from our first of 80 hikes in Big Sur.  Yes it was a cloudy, rainy day but that didn't stop us.

In February 2010, my mother came to visit.  I had to take her to see Big Sur if I didnt take her to see anything else.  It was a great trip.  We drove up and down Hwy 1 enjoying the beautiful coastline.  We tried again to see Point Sur Lighthouse but they were closed again!  We took her to dinner at Nepenthe Restaurant.  I think she enjoyed the trip.  While she was here she bought Scott and I a book "80 Hikes in Big Sur".  Thanks MOM!

May 2009
On Mother's Day, the guys asked me what I would like to do.  My answer was simple.  Spend the day at Big Sur.  Big Sur is about 2 1/2 hours from our home, but the drive along Pacific Coast Hwy 1 is breathtaking.  We stopped at every turn out.  We had lunch at the Rocky Point Restaurant. The views from the outside patio are fabulous.  I highly recommend it.  We drove all day until sundown, just tooling along taking these wonderful photos.

June 2003
I believe Big Sur is one of the most beautiful places on earth.  I did not have a very good camera in 2003 and was not able to capture the beauty of the place.  We did have lunch at the Nepenthe Restaurant.  The locals at the restaurant told us of a trail that would take us down to a beach where only the locals hang out.  Once we got there the wind was so strong it was blowing sand in our eyes.  As you can see, Trent adapted to the situation and made the best of it.
